[this is good]
You just get better and better - keep it up, you're really hitting the nail on the head :)
Thank you for reading! Of course if I could consolidate this all at one time, I might avoid some of the drama I get myself into ;)

I love your posts Sticky... One interesting thing about the current state of race relations is that, in the absence of any real comprehensive education about the history of race and priviledge, whites seems to have created a bizarre series of alternative explanations for the world around them. Having already redefined the terms we use (RACE-IST = someone who talks about race or racism [see:diversity], RACE-ISM = the "double standard" that penalizes whites for calling us 'niggers', EQUALITY = the 'neutral' state reached when whites do not hear about or deal with non-whites, BLACK LEADERS = opportunists looking to profit from their own 'race-ist' activity [see: definition above] ), as soon as we articulate the problem, we BECOME the problem. From a debate standpoint, this is a beautiful piece of sophistry... By their very definition, if we even Talk about Racism, we are exhibiting Race-ism.

Therefore, when we protest, people are not motivated to act, they are not motivated to make change; in fact society has insulated itself against the criticism and the charges by creating a false reality wherein inequality doesn't exist as long as nobody talks about it. (Reminds me of an old movie named 'Mystery Men' about some worthless superheroes, one of whom could turn invisible, but only as long as nobody looked at him)

That is not only an extremely apropos description of the current state of race discussion, but an amazing use of a Mystery Men reference! I think you and I were the only two to ever watch that movie. I was racking my brain the other day trying to remember where I saw that "only invisible when no one looks at me" thing and I thought it was some existential indy movie and completely forgot about Mystery Men. Amazing, and I thank you.

And yes, the current state of definitions is what holds things back. By the very fact that race in and of itself is created and only backed by our actions to continue it. By making a choice to ignore racism you are giving more credence to an imaginary institution! As you know, and as you've said, I just really like it ;)
Good article, I've learned a lot of new things!)
Perhaps it seems to me, but the author understates something
Hi, I apologize that I never received your replies!

@kammila - Thank you!

@ward - It is very one-sided, but it was more a response and less of a full lesson ;)
